What to do in winter

Do you need some advice on what to do in Fiera di Primiero in the winter?

You are in the right place!

There is a special place in Trentino, far away from the high demand, busy and chaotic locations, where it’s also in the peak-season possible to find quiet and relaxation. We are talking of Primiero Valley, the place where our Scalet family lives and grew up. Easy for us to love it, that’s true, but our goal is to make possible that also the people who come from outside will love it! Are you hiring a quiet place for your winter holidays or for a weekend on snow? Let us suggest you something about Fiera di Primiero.

Cross Country Skiing

If you’re a Cross Country Skiing lover our valley will fit perfect for you. One possibility is to drive down to Imèr, exactly in le Pèze, where you’ll find easy cross country skiing slopes just next to the Imèr village. Technically the slope is really easy and contains a low elevation gain number. For the specialists – even though the easier slopes are also there – we suggest Passo Cereda, 9 kms away from Fiera di Primiero in the direction of Sagròn-Mis. There are 15 kms of slopes, going from easy to hard levels of difficulty. It’s possible to rent the stuff for Cross Country Skiing at Rifugio Passo Cereda. Another spot for Cross Country Skiing is San Martino di Castrozza with its beautiful views and slopes which go through the forests of the village, or the easiest track at lake Calaita.

Alpine Skiing

San Martino di Castrozza is the perfect place for Alpine Skiing, just 13 kms away from Fiera di Primiero, where the ski resort facilities of San Martino di Castrozza – Passo Rolle offer more than 65 kms of slopes for everyone. Going from easy and almost flat slopes to the even “black” and really steep ones, in one of the most beautiful sceneries of the Dolomites, where it’s possible to ski safely and away from the traffic-jam of the tourists. From Fiera di Primiero, you can reach the slopes by car or by the comfortable Skibus service which has its stop 20 metres away from the Eden Hotel, on the main street.

Winter Nordic Walking

Primiero Valley offers a lot to the people who don’t like skiing, like the opportunity to try out Winter Nordic Walking, that means walking on the snow using snow-shoes. Helped by them you won’t sink in the fresh snow but you’ll float on it. This sport will carry you in a world of silence and pace: when our background gets covered by the “white gold”, the atmosphere in the woods is quiet, just fantastic, for this reason that’s one of the most charming elements of the winter nature.

Ski Mountaineering

If you want to discover the amazing landmarks of Primiero without using the ski resorts, then it means that Ski Mountaineering is the right sport for you. Skies and skins on your feet, you’ll be able to move freely in the mountains, discovering a beautiful world, really challenging and unpredictable. For this reason, if you’re not a specialist of Mountaineering, we suggest you to get to the Alpine Guides of San Martino, thanks to their experience you will be able to enjoy your way safely.

Snow-walking in the moonlight

Special tour for the Eden Hotel guests

Did you know that you can walk on the snow even in the darkness? The Eden Hotel also organises tours by moonlight with our nordic walking instructor.

Ice Skating

Primiero Valley offers you also the possibility of ice skating. There is an ice skating rink just 300 metres away from the Hotel. It’s a sport for everyone, also for the kids.

Romantic walk with the “Troika”

Do you know what a Troika is? It’s a wood sleigh, like a carriage but with two skates instead of the wheels, carried by horses. In San Martino di Castrozza you can live this unique experience, on board the troika through the snow covered streets of the village.

Dinner in the shelter with arrival by snowmobile

If you’re a lover of good food and would do everything for a delicious dish of the Trentino tradition, you have to try the dinner in the shelter with arrival by snowmobile. You’ll reach the shelter by snowmobile, where you’ll taste a nice aperitivo under the stars while watching the Pale di San Martino lighted by the moon and then taste a wonderful Trentino dinner. For the way back you will use the chairlift. For more information, visit our webpage.
